POSITION SUMMARY
This position administers financial aid and student account programs for all campuses.  Provides leadership, direction and coordination for the organization and delivery of all Student Financial Aid programs.  Creates an environment of consistency and accuracy.   Ensures compliance with State and Federal guidelines and laws and company policies. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides oversight and supervision to the campus Student Financial Aid Department.
  • Ensures that all state, federal and non-Title IV financial aid is awarded, authorized, and disbursed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provides leadership to promote and maintain integrity, accuracy, and timeliness in the delivery of financial aid to students.
  • Assists in setting student finance goals and objectives for the College and ensures that all goals are met.
  • Ensures that programs are developed to overcome student financial aid issues in order to maintain and promote student retention.
  • Collaborates in the design and maintenance of the Campus’s structures and staffing plans to effectively accomplish student finance goals and objectives.
  • Assists the Campus Director in hiring, training, and managing the Financial Aid Advisors.
  • Directs the development of policies and procedures for student finance in order to streamline work flow processes.
  • Reviews and approves the plans, development, and implementation of student finance strategies in order to meet short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Ensures the creation of processes, controls, reports, evaluations, and reviews of Company student finance policies.
  • Ensures compliance with Federal and State laws and Company Student Finance policies.
  • Ensures the student financial aid staff maintains an exemplary standard of customer service which includes assisting students and parents regarding financial aid programs, providing detailed information, and answering questions.
  • Ensures the necessary reports regarding financial aid are produced for management on schedule.
  • Fosters and maintains a supportive student-centered atmosphere that is sensitive and responsive to students and their families.
  • Participates in leadership meetings.
  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, methodology, and procedures for the provision of student financial aid.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal financial aid laws, including Title IV Regulations.
  • Ability to supervise and direct the activities of others.
  • Demonstrated skills in facilitating and modeling a strong customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, staff and the public.
  • Ability to manage sensitive, confidential issues.
  • Proven ability to set priorities and deadlines and ensure that projects are completed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline oriented environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  •  Demonstrated Computer literacy skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. 
  • At least five years of experience in student finance operations with experience managing multiple locations. 
  • Experience in the application of FERPA laws in a college/university environment.
  • Experience in the utilization of financial aid software.
  • Membership in professional organizations such as CASFAA, WASFAA strongly preferred.
  • Accounting or finance experience helpful.
